1.) Lower the water temperature on your hot water heater. i.e. 100-120 degrees

2.) Install a digital timer switch on your hot water heater.

3.) Proper maintenance.

1.) Go to your hot water tank and look for a panel door that is located on the side of your hot water heater.

2.) Remove this panel door by removing the 2 phillips head screws that are holding the panel door onto the side of your hot water heater.

3.) Open this panel up and look for a dial (probably red) that has degrees on it.

4.) Turn this dial to your desired water temperature.

5.) Place panel cover back on hot water heater and screw screws back tight.
