...I'd like to move and/or install my air compressor quite a distance away from where I will be using it. What should I use to carry the air from the air compressor to where I will be using it?
You have 2 options. Either option, you will probably mounting the option to the wall or the ceiling until you reach the point where you will be using the air.

1.) Get a couple of couplers for your size air hose and a much longer air "same diamter" air hose and connect them together. Or,

2.) You can use copper pipe.

NOTE:
Using copper pipe would be a much more expensive option.

Other than a regulator, you should definitely install the following 2 things on your air compressor...

1.) an air and water separator
2.) an air filter

An air and water separator will keep water from travelling down your air hose or copper pipe into your tools.

Water gets into your air compressor and air hose or copper pipe from the outside air when the air is being compressed.

The 1 thing you should check regularly the more you use your air compressor is the air filter.

NOTE:
You want to check the air filter for excessive dirt build up as well as condensation.
If the filter is dirty or has condensation, either clean the filter or replace it.
